Sarah Tustin - Thorpe HamletMy name is Sarah, I am standing for City Council elections in Mancroft - the ward which I live in. I am relatively new to Norwich, coming here in 2014 to study at UEA and falling in love with the city. Since moving here, I have been working with Norman Lamb MP and his Liberal Democrat team in North Norfolk.

As a primary school teacher, I am passionate about improving education - and unfortunately, research has shown that social mobility in the city is poor, and education needs to change to improve that. Alongside my interest in education, I believe in community politics. I'd like to see our local government offer communities greater decision-making powers. The Russell Centre in Mancroft have started to host regular community meetings, I'd argue that these meetings should feed directly into City Council decisions.

I believe a good Councillor works alongside residents not just for them.
