Norwich South AGM / Norwich GM

November 29, 2017 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Harford Community Centre, 10 The Lastings, Hall Road, Norwich NR4 6ET

The Executive Committee invites members to attend our Annual General Meeting.

The evening will begin with the AGM for Norwich South, following by a meeting to establish a new city party. Agenda for both meetings can be downloaded from here and here.

Local Party changes

All Norfolk Local Parties have agreed to move to district council boundaries rather than the current Parliamentary constituency boundaries from the beginning of January. This is because Parliamentary constituency boundaries will in future be liable to change every five years and we want to avoid the problems that this would otherwise cause.

The Norwich South AGM will be brief, needing only to approve the annual accounts and to vote to disband the current party. You can read the Treasurer's report here and the Chair's report here.

This part of the evening will be followed immediately by the GM for all members of the new Local Party to approve a new constitution (read here) and elect a new Executive committee.

If you would like to be part of the Executive, please review the job descriptions and download a nomination form.

Following the formal business of the meeting, there will be an opportunity to have a drink and nibble and hear from our City Council Group and talk about future developments.

One major benefit of the change in boundaries is that it will make it easier to mount an effective campaign for local council elections. Special cross-Local Party arrangements will be made to organise the selection of a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate and fight Parliamentary elections.

If you would like to be part of this fresh start by taking a role in the new Local Party, we would very much like to see you there.

Please tell us, by clicking this link, whether you can/can't make this evening.
